UN Resident Coordinator Bishow Parajuli warned Zimbabwe that the SDGs will not be met from the national budget and development aid alone. “Its engagement with the private sector is really important because at the end of the day, PPPs help with the economy growth and jobs.”
The SDGs have expanded development goals to 17 and new targets require new strategies. Parajuli asks, “How do we localize and implement and create ownership among communities?”
It is a question a Zimbabwe group believes it already has an answer to. Unemployment in the country runs higher than 80%. Youth are the hardest hit and are seen as threats in their communities.
