“Our local authority don’t have an office which purely represents the issues for youths, or which stands solely to address the youth issues “ So our advocacy and campaign theme during the youth day was to lobby for a youth office at the local municipally and the allocation of a budget for youth empowerment activities.” Solomon (26) Chairman of the Youth Group

Young people in the area then approached Action Aid to help them build their advocacy and campaign theme, and ActionAid did put aside resources to ensure that the youths are well supported in their an devour.

“We could not believe when the Mayor announced that they are in the process of recruiting a youth officer and also they had set up a supplementary budget specifically for Youth activities, the moment he said that it was all jubililation especially among the youths “ said Solomon.
