Invite you to a dialogue on

Brazil – South Africa exchange
Measuring and Reporting International Development Cooperation

Defining, monitoring, evaluating and reporting international development activities remains a challenge among all providers of South-South cooperation. Brazil nonetheless has undertaken major strides in this field through the regular publication since 2010 of the Cooperação Brasileira para o Desenvolvimento Internacional (COBRADI) report by the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA) as well as the recent Monitoring and Evaluation Platform developed by the Brazilian Agency for Cooperation (ABC).

As South Africa explores ways to systematize its own development cooperation it welcomes learning from the experiences of its Southern peer in Latin America. On the side-lines of the 2018 BRICS Academic Forum, the Institute for Global Dialogue (IGD), and the Brazilian Embassy in Pretoria invite you to an informal round-table to allow South African stakeholders to exchange views and experiences on measuring and reporting South-South cooperation with their Brazilian counterparts.

The dialogue will assist in strengthening national, regional and global efforts, approaches and methodologies to systematise data and information on South-South cooperation, and contribute to ongoing global debates around the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Africa’s Agenda 2063 and the Buenos Aires Plan of Action (BAPA) + 40.
