Sikhumbuzo Zondi is a Resident Scholar at IGD and PhD Candidate at the University of South Africa. He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations obtained in 2016, a BSS Honours degree in Political Science obtained in 2015 and a BSS degree in Politics and Ethics obtained in 2014, all from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. His core research interests are Human Security, People-Centred Development and Geopolitical dynamics primarily Africa-China Cooperation. Some of his publications include: The Pitfalls of Neoliberal Policies and the Rise of Morales’ Socialism in Bolivia: Successes and Challenges; Obama’s Foreign Policy Legacy in Latin America: A Scorecard; and The strategic future of the ACP Group in the aftermath of the Brexit vote co-authored with Wayne Jumat.
