United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in Nigeria China Nigeria Relations As a Framework

In his speech, Chinese Ambassador Gu Xiaojie introduced the initiatives announced by Chinese President Xi Jinping during the UN Sustainable Development Summit series last September and the views of China on peace, development, civilization and international order. Ambassador Gu elaborated on China’s proposed 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) for National Economic and Social Development and the idea on development. Gu listed the contributions made by the Chinese Government to fulfill the UN Millennium Development Goals, and stated the principle, position and proposal of the Chinese side on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Gu emphasized that China is committed to achieving mutual benefits and common development of the international community, including the developing countries.
