Conference to catch up with MENA region

In other parts of the region, distribution losses and poor energy efficiency are driving demand for smart grid deployment.

Another factor boosting demand is the development of solar power projects in the region.
In sum, MENA region has risen as a smart grid technology leader among emerging markets.
The deployment of smart grid in MENA is largely state-driven as governments control electrification.
And governments of the region — although still cautious about deploying smart grid technology — understand that it is critical to future growth plans.

They are adopting smart grids in keeping with “smart city” concepts. The ongoing proliferation of smart grids is expected to expand the market for the technology to $10 billion by 2024.
