During a media briefing in Parliament, Nomaindia Mfeketo said South Africa was willing to help Syrians fleeing the war in their country.
“We will go and assist, even though they’re going to other countries. I think that will only happen if there’s a flow to South Africa.”
On issues related to Iran, Mfeketo said government was keen to resume trade relations with Iran once western-imposed sanctions had been lifted.
“I’m sure for South Africa, if there’s a process of doing that lawfully tomorrow we will do it, if there are no obstacles.”
She, however, said there were no time frames as to when relations with Iran would be normalised.
