Sustainable Development Goals

While Asia-Pacific has made significant progress against the MDGs compared to other regions in the last 15 years, especially in reducing poverty, these is still a long way to go. This region remains home to more than 60% of the world’s extreme poor and two-thirds of the world’s hungry. Some countries in the region have the highest numbers of out-of-school children in the world and there are still 1.2 billion people without access to basic sanitation. The SDGs aim to complete what has not been achieved in the past 15 years.
