Speaking at the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate Change at Luxembourg on Sunday, the Indian minister said: “We should not forget that what will lapse is the Kyoto Protocol and not the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)”. Beyond this level, the consequences of climate change become increasingly devastating. Indian Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said over the weekend that introduction of new agenda at this “late hour” could jeopardise the chances of success in the French capital.
