Briefing media on Thursday, Minister in the Presidency responsible for Performance, Monitoring and Evaluation, Jeff Radebe, said Durban has bid to host the 2022 Commonwealth Games, which was formally lodged in London on 2 March 2015.
“Another legacy of the Games will be an integrated public transport system for Durban for which the plans have already been approved,” he said.
A South African delegation has just returned to the country after a trip to London to officially bid for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The Durban’s Commonwealth Games Bid Committee said their presentation was well received and the City of Durban already has facilities in place for the games.
