The consultative meetings, which get underway today, form part of regional efforts to consolidate peace and security in Lesotho, says the Presidency.
“The Deputy President’s visit follows the recent signing of the Maseru Facilitation Declaration and the Maseru Security Accord, which laid a basis for the resolution of the political and security challenges facing the Kingdom of Lesotho,” said the Presidency.
The Facilitator, Deputy President Ramaphosa, is expected to pay a courtesy call on His Majesty King Letsie III, hold meetings with Prime Minister Tom Thabane, Deputy Prime Minister Mothejoa Metsing, the Speaker of Lesotho’s parliament Sephiri Motanyane, Deputy Speaker Adv. Lekhetho Rakuoane and the EU Ambassador Michaele Doyle.
