Deputy President concludes four-legged African visit

Since Wednesday, Deputy President Ramaphosa has been on a working visit to South Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda and Tanzania where he held discussions with President Salva Kirr, Vice President Riek Machar, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, President Yoweri Museveni and President Jikaya Kikwete.

He took these visits to African countries in his capacity as Special Envoy to help bring about peace and stability in South Sudan.

“The visit was in pursuit of helping to bring about peace and stability in South Sudan and thus necessitated the need to consult with all role-players involved in the peace process in the country including Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), African Union and leaders of South Sudan,” the Presidency said.
