But first the good news: The fact that the world’s only remaining superpower can go to such great strides in an endeavour to establish a common wavelength with Africa is welcome news indeed.

It is quite plausible that the Africa, although sometimes described in disparaging terms, has shirked its image as a “dark continent”.
