Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Dr AK Abdul Momen, has been elected to chair the bureau at a high-level four-day meeting, which started on May 19 at the United Nations conference room in New York.

The SSC also elected three vice presidents from Ukraine, Liberia and New Zealand to represent East Europe, Africa and West Europe respectively. Besides, Argentina has been elected as the rapporteur from South America, said a press release.

The SSC is a broad framework for collaboration among countries of the South in the political, economic, social, cultural, environmental and technical domains.
