The news that the rail line construction was pushed to 2017 was confirmed by Transnet Freight Rail General Manager Cleo Shiceka on Tuesday and Stephenson Ngubane to South African publication Business Day as well as to Engineering News.
This pushing of the construction date is now nullifying the assertions of both Transnet Freight Rail Chief Executive Officer Siyabonga Gama and Swaziland Railway CEO Stephenson Ngubane that construction work was expected to start next year (2015).
