Many of these observations serve to amplify commentaries throughout this compilation, which serves as a culmination of thinking that has emerged over the past five years as the nature of BRICS has developed and evolved. These thoughts and observations concern the outcome of the summit, South Africa’s role in hosting it and the conduct of its diplomacy in terms of BRICS, and the wider global implications and challenges facing BRICS as a grouping.
