Dear colleagues,

Postponement of Roundtable on South Africa’s second term in UNSC: Promoting the African Agenda

Due to the on-going climate change conference in Durban, which has attracted the attention of a large segment of the South African foreign policy community and observers, the IGD regrets to inform you that the roundtable on South Africa’s efforts to promote the African Agenda in the UNSC that was scheduled for Friday, 02 December 2011 has been postponed.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that this rescheduling might cause. However, given the importance of the issue to be discussed and the current commitments of most of the stakeholders who would like to take part in the meeting, we believe it is in the interest of a healthy and inclusive debate that the meeting be postponed to early next year. The new date for the event will be communicated to you in due course.

We count on your usual understanding and cooperation.
